Book Launch!!!

Illustration I did last year for the cover of a young adults book titled 'The Good Samaritan', by Julia Haisley. This is her first published book and was launched late December by Ginninderra Press.

The Good Samaritan
When a boat carrying asylum seekers is wrecked south of Adelaide, local teenager Josh hides one of the escapees in his shed. The struggle to keep Habib hidden leads Josh to face formerly unknown challenges to his cosy, comfortable world. The tension builds as Josh combats different threats to Habib's safety, culminating in an exciting climax on the day of his sister's wedding.

Urban Art Pod Pt.1

Last year I was invited to be a part of a public art mentorship program called the Urban Art Pod. The program is an initiative of Carclew Youth Arts, which brings 12 young South Australian artists together to work on innovative public art projects whilst working under leading artists in their chosen field...

In October I attended a Micro-climates workshop with Kirsten Bradley, as part of the first leg of the Urban Art Pod...

Bio-Innovation mural Pt.2

Update time...a few more snapshots of the work on the Bio-Innovation mural in Thebarton, South Australia.

This sizey mural, designed by Jimmy C and painted along with a number of assistant artists, was painted in honour of those South Australian's who have contributed significantly to scientific research in the area of Bio technology...Such as Nobel prize winner Howard Florey, the guy on our $50 note who discovered Penicillin. This is a historic mural for Adelaide, so I felt quite privileged to be a part of it.

Paint, oh paint, it's been too long...

Meet Barry Marshall and Robin Warren, these guys have Nobel prizes...
And Peter Doherty...He also has a Nobel prize.
I did NOT have fun with that shirt...

But he didn't seem to mind...Good ol' Pete just kept smiling.

All the scientists I painted are still alive I'm told...this is a worry.
